* You may want to use this page to help you identify your window types:
Casement:
Window with a hinged sash that swings out like a door. These may be a solid sheet of glass or individually divided lites in which the mullions are not removable.
* Shown here: Casement windows with transoms above.

Double-hung:
2 sashes to these windows. Mullions may be removable or not.

Thermal Pane (Double-hung):
Double hung windows that have 2 large pieces of glass on each sash. They are insulated between the outer sheet of glass and the inner sheet of glass. Most have removable mullions or mullions that are already between the glass.

Divided Lite (Double-hung):
Each pane is a separate piece of glass and the mullions are not removable.
* Shown here: Example of a 12 over 12, with 12 cut-ups on the top sash over 12 cut-ups on the bottom sash. Mullions are not removable.

Storm Window:
Storm windows are a separate frame that has been installed on the outside of the original window to help with insulation.
Note: for outside only window cleaning on windows with storms, we DO NOT remove the storm windows to clean the original windows. We ONLY clean the outer-most pieces of glass.

Picture window with sides (no storms):
One large, fixed window in the middle, as if to frame a picture. Picture windows may also stand alone, or have no sides.

Plate with transom above:
Fixed pieces of glass, or plates. Plates can be large or small but must be fixed.
* Shown here: Plates with transoms above

Tilt-in Thermal Pane:
Windows who's individual sashes can be raised and tilted in to allow all cleaning from the inside. A majority of the time we prefer to clean these windows from the outside and do not utilize the "tilt-in" capabilities; however, sometimes we do need to tilt in a window or two on the job.

Fixed Window:
Fixed windows cannot be opened. Many times they are smaller in size, like the one shown here.
